General Guidance
Endnotes are the required source documentation format for use in student projects at the U.S. Army War College. Students will find endnote examples in the Communicative Arts Directive and on the Library's website.
However, students, staff, and faculty may sometimes need to provide a properly formatted and comprehensive listing of sources in bibliography format. Typically, course directives and syllabi follow the bibliography format. This guide provides examples for citing sources following the USAWC recommended manual — Kate L. Turabian's A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations, 7th ed., University of Chicago Press, 2007. Copies of Turabian are available in the Library for checkout (LB2369 .T8 2007).
