INTRODUCTION

"Asia is home to the eight of the world’s ten largest megacities—Tokyo, Jakarta, Seoul, Guangzhou, Delhi, Shanghai, Karachi, and Manila—all with over 20 million inhabitants. As Asia’s megacities continue to grow, concern mounts over the ability of states to control them. That control would be tested by natural disasters, civil unrest, infrastructure shortfalls, or epidemics. Indonesia Urban Studies
A blog hosted by Professor Deden Rukmana, Chairperson for Department of Community and Regional Planning at Alabama A&M University, which focuses on Indonesia's urban problems.
South Asia Center
The South Asia Center serves as the Atlantic Council's focal point for work on greater South Asia as well as its relations between these countries, the neighboring regions, Europe, and the United States. It seeks to foster partnerships with key institutions in the region to establish itself as a forum for dialogue between decision-makers in South Asia, the United States, and NATO, and continues to "wage peace" in the region. These deliberations cover internal and external security, governance, trade, economic development, education, and other issues.
